Amy DeFigueiredo has twenty years of experience in yogic practices and over a decade of teaching expertise. Since 2005 she’s studied with five core teachers; she certified in 200-hour teacher training with the Himalayan Institute in 2013. She’s trained in all aspects of hatha yoga and dedicated 6 years to the daily Ashtanga series. In 2021, after sustaining injuries from extreme asanas, she set out to heal the damage. The wisdom in Functional Movement Patterns, Resistance and High Intensity Interval Training, as well as Isometric Training informed by Muscle Activation Therapy changed her perspectives on classical hatha yoga. She has built the muscular structures necessary to support and heal her own structural damage. She is a student of Tibetan Buddhism in the Nyingma lineage in the Vajrayana vehicle. She offers her know-how in physical practices and weaves her yoga disciplines and studies into all her offerings for students to partake.
